Color choice:
The models shown on the images are worked in other yarns than Önling No 20 and 8, but if you wish to knit a skirt in very similar colors, we recommend the following combinations:
Brown: Önling no 20, col 70 grey-brown mix and Önling No 8, col 351 Brown
Recommended needles: 4,5 mm circular needle (60 and 80 and/or 100 cm) and 4 mm needle (80 or 100 cm), 3,5 mm needle (60 cm)
Gauge: 19 sts x 32 rows in waffle texture on needle no. 4,5 mm = 10 x 10 cm
Procedure: The skirt is worked top down. First, the waistband is worked in stockinette stitch in the round. It is then folded in half and knitted down. From here, you work in waffle texture and short rows are worked to lengthen the back relative to the front. Then, waffle texture is worked in the round with increases for the hips on both sides of the work.
ABOUT PATTERNS FROM ÖNLING
In 95% of all kits from Önling, you get a digital pattern and yarn when you buy a kit. Read more about how to get hold of your digital knitting pattern here.
In very few cases, however, we provide a printed pattern rather than a digital one:
- When you buy a kit for ALL designs from PetiteKnit's, you will receive a printed, pattern together with your yarn, as we are unfortunately not allowed to sell Petite Knits' patterns digitally.
- When you buy a kit for a design from selected books (e.g. Helga Isager), you sometimes have to buy the book separately, in cases where the patterns are not released to be sold separately. It will always be clearly described in the product title, with for example "xx kit, excluding pattern", when the pattern is not included.
- All patterns from Isager are delivered as a printed pattern, as we do not have access to sell these digitally. You will receive your pattern along with your yarn shipment.
Wool can last for years, but it requires good care. Washing is tough on your woolen garments and in general wool needs to be washed much less than other materials as it has a self-cleaning effect.
