Happy Holidays to you from Önling

When you shop at Önling, we aspire at giving you a personal shopping experience, with high quality products, as well a competent, quick and personal service.

When you buy yarn from Önling, you are dealing with Katrine and Lotte, who have established and run Önling since 2015. We are passionate about delivering quality yarn and patterns, and we hope that this experience reaches you as a customer.

True to tradition, we have a Christmas gift for you in the shape of a free pattern. Or, truth be told, you actually get two free patterns in the Christmas stocking this year – a pattern for a lovely unisex scarf and a pattern for a pair of pretty wrist warmers.

Both designs are originally designed by the talented knitwear designer Hanne Falkenberg, after which we have spiced them up a bit and worked them in delicious, soft yarns, to give them a new expression.

2022 has been a turbulent year and at Önling we have tried to keep up on all fronts – both financially and design-wise.

In the autumn of 2022, we outsourced our storage and pick and pack facility to an external partner, with all the 'childhood diseases' this has brings. Finally everything have been brought back in control, and we can once again proudly say that we send orders out quickly and efficiently. We thank those of you who have been affected by mis-shipments or delays for your understanding 🙏

We have also launched a new basket on our webshop in 2022, to make it easier for you as a customer to see what exactly you have in the basket, the price of a kit in total and the yarns individually, remove individual items again, etc.

In 2022, we have gone through a process around our sustainability promises, and this has resulted in exciting – in our opinion – communication about what we stand for, our principles around sustainability, climate, animal welfare, etc. We expect to be completely ready with some great new communication around this at the start of the new year...

In 2022, we have also supported two important causes which are very close to our hearts.

1) For our design 'Knitting is my therapy', we have donated money to the national organization SIND -a Danish charity that advocates understanding and tolerance of people with mental problems and illnesses and their families.  Önling donates 5 dkr / 0.65 USD for every sold pattern in 2022 to @sind.dk.

2) For the second year in a row, we have supported a Danish foundation called  'Julemærkehjemmet' via our sale of the pattern for 'Julemærkenissen'. The sale of the recipe for this elf goes directly to the Christmas stamp fund. When you buy the pattern for the Christmas Elves from Önling, all the money goes directly to 'Julemærkehjemmet', who helps vulnerable children out of bullying, loneliness and low self esteem.

This Christmas we prioritize time with our families, recharging our batteries and working on some new designs. We are therefore closed in our showroom between Christmas and New Year, but can still be contacted by phone (usual office hours) and via the info email (expect slightly slower response time). Orders are also packed and shipped between Christmas and New Year.
